WCQR2022 | Pre-Conference Roundtable

Using Technology Meaningfully in Qualitative Research

In 2021, Drs. Trena Paulus and Jessica Lester released “Doing Qualitative Research in a Digital World,” a text focused on offering qualitative researchers a framework for designing qualitative research studies that leverage digital tools and/or potentially take place in a digital space. They argued for a theoretically informed use of digital tools and illustrated the value of developing a coherent digital work plan from beginning to end.

During this roundtable discussion, Dr. Paulus and Dr. Lester engage with participants around how to think about using digital tools in a theoretically informed and useful way, highlighting how digital tools and humans are inextricably entangled and are always functioning as co-investigators.

Invited speakers: Jessica Nina Lester, Indiana University (US) and Trena M. Paulus, East Tennessee State University (US).

Moderator: Elizabeth Pope, University of West Georgia (US).
