WCQR2022 switching to online

6th World Conference on Qualitative Research

The Organizing Committee of the 6th World Conference on Qualitative Research (WCQR2022) has been closely monitoring the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic. While numbers have been decreasing and the vaccination process is allowing many countries to ease restrictions, there are still limitations regarding events and traveling to many destinations. Many researchers have been showing some fear and concern about traveling and will not be able to attend the WCQR2022 in person.

The Organizing Committee of the WCQR2022 considers there is still a big level of uncertainty for the upcoming months, and it is not yet possible to anticipate a full return to normality. This is even more important in the case of an international event like WCQR, which brings together participants from more than 40 countries. For this reason, the OC has decided to switch the WCQR2022 to a fully virtual conference.

All activities planned for WCQR2022 that can be held online will take place in synchronous or asynchronous virtual sessions, on the event dates.

Works approved in WCQR2022 will be presented in virtual mode, guaranteeing the authors:

– The publication of accepted works submitted to WCQR2022 in book chapters with DOI and ISBN;

– The publication of selected works approved in WCQR2022 in journals associated with the event;

– The presentation of approved works in online synchronous/asynchronous sessions;

– The presentation of Panel Discussions and Workshops in online synchronous sessions;

– The certification of participation and/or presentation of works in WCQR2022.

The Organizing Committee is aware of the challenges of holding a fully online event, but recent experience has shown to be successful, guaranteeing the safety of everyone involved. Furthermore, this gives researchers the opportunity to take part in the event, disseminate and publish their scientific work, whose impact and relevance are even more evident at the present moment.

Soon, more information about the program structure in virtual format will be provided. Regarding the submitted works, the reviewing and notification process will take place within the established deadlines.

We look forward to welcoming you to WCQR2022!
