Ariel Restaurant will host the WCQR2025 dinner on Thursday, February 6th, offering participants a selection of traditional dishes, including a vegetarian option.
Located in the heart of Kazimierz, Kraków’s historic Jewish quarter, Ariel serves as a restaurant, café, and gallery, blending culinary and cultural experiences.
Kazimierz has been a center of Jewish life and culture in Kraków since the 14th century, when King Casimir III the Great welcomed Jewish settlement there. Over the centuries, the community flourished, building synagogues, schools, and thriving businesses. Although deeply scarred by World War II, Kazimierz has experienced a remarkable revival in recent decades and today stands as a vibrant cultural hub—home to Jewish festivals, art galleries, museums, and traditional restaurants.
Notable landmarks include the Old Synagogue (one of Poland’s oldest surviving synagogues), the Remuh Synagogue and its historic cemetery, and the lively streets of Szeroka and Józefa, lined with cafés and shops.
Ariel, housed in a beautifully restored tenement, continues this legacy by offering traditional Jewish cuisine, live Klezmer music, and an art gallery showcasing Judaic art. It provides a meaningful connection between the district’s historic past and its contemporary cultural resurgence.
The dinner will feature a live performance of Klezmer Jewish music in a beautifully decorated dining room adorned with hundreds of paintings, creating a unique and memorable atmosphere for attendees.
