José Ignacio Rivas Flores
University of Málaga (ES)
Full Professor in the Department of Didactics and School Organisation at the University of Málaga, where he began his academic career in 1985. Since his doctoral thesis, his research has focused on qualitative and ethnographic approaches, evolving over the past 20 years towards biographical and narrative research, which currently constitutes his primary research area. He has coordinated the ProCie research group (Code HUM619, Andalusian Research Plan) since 1995. His research is structured around three main lines: first, he focuses on the organisation of educational institutions; second, he has developed an interest in teacher professional development, particularly in relation to professional culture; and third, he works in the field of education policy. He participates in postgraduate courses and teacher training seminars on these topics in Spain, Latin America, and Romania. In terms of teaching, throughout his academic career he has been closely linked to subjects in school organisation and, since the creation of the Psychopedagogy degree, to teacher professional development. At doctoral level, in addition to subjects related to these fields, he has consistently taught qualitative research methodology.
